Vjetrenica cave


Vjetrenica ("wind cave"). the largest and the most famous cave in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a pro­tected natural monument located in the Municipal­ity of Ravno, some 12 km from the Adriatic coast. A speleological object, geomorphological and hydrological phenomenon, unique in the area of Dinarides, Herzegovina and Popovo Field. It’s one of the leading caves in terms of biodiversity, and it’s a habitat of many cave species. It is a protected landscape. Magical beauty, wide corridors and halls, under­ground water and waterfalls, and the wind blow­ing constantly through its entrance make it a one of a kind cave in the world. The duration of the tour of the cave Vjetrenica is 40-60 minutes. In the period from November 1 to March 31 visits are possible by appointment.
