Such varieties are linked by the unique beauty of the
territory shaped by the picturesque slopes and hills, the
plane area along the river Neretva with its tributaries (Rama,
Trebižet, Krupa, Bregava), coastal band and bluish sea.
The richness of the landscape, vegetation, relief and
geological shapes, various flora and fauna and a unique
historical/cultural monuments – are all located within the
relatively small space.
In addition, one should mention two spectacular parks of
nature – Hutovo Blato and Blidinje, which are both truly worth
of visit.
There are three prominent tourist destinations in the
Herzegovina-Neretva Canton: Neum – for its coastal tourism,
Mostar – for its continental and resort tourism and Medjugorje
– for its religious tourism. All three destinations
exquisitely supplementing each other, bearing in mind the
richness of each destination separately.
Nowdays, the Canton offers the tourist market approximately
16.000 beds in various forms and categories of accommodation
(hotels, motels, small pensions, private houses and other)
with an increasing tendency of tourist capacities and a
significant annual growth of the tourist turnover.
